Higher Gills Farm is set within magnificent open countryside with the added bonus of being close to historic market towns such as Colne, Clitheroe, Settle and Skipton. We are proud to be below Pendle Hill in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Forest of Bowland is one of the few remaining upland wildernesses in England – a 300 square mile rural oasis where visitors have the chance to escape the ‘chatter’ of the 21st Century and tune in to the slower rhythms of nature.
Plus within 50 miles are five major cities with their theatres, museums, galleries and major shopping centres. Also within 50 miles are arguably Britain's two finest National Parks 'The Yorkshire Dales National Park' and 'The Lake District National Park'.
The Dales and Lakes are easily accessible by car. The historic market towns of Skipton, Clitheroe and Settle are all close by. The Ribble Valley and Pendle area are of outstanding beauty - to visit, admire, there are plenty of mill shops for bargain hunters and canal-side trips for transport enthusiasts. Fishing, golf courses also in the area, so you will not be short of things to do.
